Jack

Jack is a very special boy that came to us from a rural shelter in North Carolina. We don't know much about Jack's history as he was turned in to the shelter as a stray. What we can guess is that he was an outdoor dog that was most likely hit by a car and his injuries went untreated. He is missing one eye and has a displaced patella in his hind leg. His injuries have healed on their own and currently don't seem to bother him at all. His knees sometimes give him trouble when they come out of place but do not cause him pain. He is currently being maintained on a joint supplement which seems to be helping. He is being observed for a length of time before deciding if he is a candidate for knee surgery or if it is unnecessary.

With Jack's sad past and all he has been through, he is the sweetest and most grateful dog. Jack loves everyone and wants to be the best boy for his people. He is good with cats, dogs, and older children. He has come a very long way in his time in rescue and would love nothing more than to have a forever family to share the rest of his life with.

Jack is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. His new family will be working with Hearts for Hounds as we monitor his knees for potential surgery.
